In Memoriam Richard DelCastillo, managing director of Bangkok International (Medford, N.J.), passed away on July 19 after a courageous battle with cancer. DelCastillo started his flooring career as owner/president of Bangkok International in the 1960s. He was instrumental in introducing many of the industry standards that are known and used today, such as the introduction of custom - stained prefinished flooring and floating floors into the U.S. market and the use of laser cutting for hardwood floors, to name a few. Highly regarded in the industry for more than 40 years, DelCastillo appreciated and enjoyed uncountable close friendships throughout the industry, says Tony Dovell, president of Bangkok International.
